January 30, 2025 – This week, LLS has heard great concern from patients, caregivers, volunteers, healthcare professionals, researchers, community organizations, and others who are fearful and confused by recent actions taken by the White House.
Cancer is challenging enough. Disruptions in cancer research and healthcare — even those that may be temporary — can take their toll on patients and their families. Any decisions made by the government that affect the country's health should be made carefully and deliberately. These actions are threatening to have real effects on real lives.
As an independent, nonpartisan voice for patients, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society vigorously opposes actions that jeopardize their lives and well-being. Our commitment to patients has spanned 75 years, and we will continue to share how decisions made by government officials affect them.
