Caregiver and volunteer
Our family has once again joined the fight to beat leukemia and lymphoma together with the support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). I am a cancer survivor who comes from a family that, for three generations, has had eight family members with solid tumors or blood cancers. We understand cancer; we will never give up the fight.
Some 22 years ago, my dear wife and best friend ever in life died from leukemia, despite a valiant six-year battle. Our son was only a child. Now, our son, my beloved 24-year-old boy, is bravely fighting for his life, diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
Once again, our entire family, with his big sister, friends, and colleagues, have joined together to fight blood cancers and fundraise for LLS.
As caregivers, we have been supported and comforted by LLS’ weekly chats with other caregivers. This incredible support resource has been our flower in the sun, getting love and support from those who have been there, too, and can join together to help others in need. I so appreciate LLS.
As a 25-year medical healthcare professional and a loving father fighting for his beloved son's welfare, I want to help. Please help me "give back" to those in need respectfully and with gratitude.
